Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2008 Ballon d’Or Season Voted Best of All Time

France Football published the results on October 28 of its “Ballon d’Or of All Time” vote, launched for the award’s 70th anniversary. Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2008 season comfortably beat Lionel Messi’s 2012 season; the vote ranked the best season by a Ballon d’Or winner, not the greatest player in history, and the B.O.A.T is not an official trophy. In 2007–08, Ronaldo scored 42 goals for Manchester United, who won the Premier League and Champions League, before he claimed the Ballon d’Or with 446 points, ahead of Messi’s 281.
