Home fibre: ARCEP prepares a map to compare operators

Togo’s ARCEP has issued a tender to build an interactive map enabling households and businesses to compare fibre operators’ coverage, speeds and service quality. Bids are due by 10 a.m. on October 30; the project is valued at 250 million CFA francs from the regulator’s 2026 budget and must be delivered within 240 days of contract notification. Users will also be able to report network problems through a mobile-friendly portal that could later be released as an app. An ARCEP study published in May 2026 found that Yas had a higher average download speed than Canalbox, at 45 versus 39.69 Mb/s, while Canalbox recorded lower latency, at 12.95 versus 22.50 milliseconds.
