Da Cruz exudes confidence ahead of maiden Soweto derby test

Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando da Cruz appeared composed at his first press conference ahead of the Soweto derby, held Thursday at SuperSport Studios in Randburg. Chiefs enter the match buoyed by a 3-0 win over TS Galaxy on Tuesday, which secured a place in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-finals against Siwelele next month. Sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr. had recently voiced support for Da Cruz and his technical team after a difficult run that included elimination in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifying rounds. Da Cruz called the derby the most important game in the South African football calendar and one of the biggest on the continent.
