Dakar Governor Ousmane Kane announced temporary traffic, parking and security measures ahead of the Youth Olympic Games opening ceremony on October 31 at Abdoulaye-Wade Stadium in Diamniadio. On the Autoroute de l’Avenir, the left lane will be reserved for Olympic traffic during specified hours, while exit 11 will be limited to vehicles displaying a COJOJ pass. Spectators are directed to exits 10 or 12 and the overpass by Diamniadio TER station; trucks over 3.5 tonnes will also be barred from several roads, with an exception for locally authorized deliveries.

The UN Joint Human Rights Office (BCNUDH) documented 464 human rights violations and abuses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in July 2026, affecting at least 1,081 victims, a 30% drop from June. Fire destroys around 20 homes in Nyamugo, Bukavu

A fire on Wednesday destroyed around 20 homes on Avenue Virunga in the Nyamugo neighborhood of Bukavu.
