Diourbel: BFEM candidate sentenced to two years in prison for violent theft

A 19-year-old student in his final year of middle school and a BFEM candidate was sentenced to two years in prison by Diourbel’s flagrante delicto court. He was accused of assaulting a woman in Bambey on September 6, 2026, and stealing her phone, which was allegedly used to buy 1,000 CFA francs’ worth of fuel through Wave and make a fraudulent transfer of 28,000 CFA francs. The transactions reportedly helped investigators identify him, and the victim’s daughter recognized him two days after the incident; the student denied the charges, claiming mistaken identity. To sit his end-of-year exam while held at Diourbel prison, he will need an exceptional authorization to be escorted out.

Aminata Diallo files complaint over breach of investigative secrecy and witness tampering

Former PSG and France player Aminata Diallo filed a complaint on Monday against unidentified persons, seeking a judicial investigation into alleged breaches of investigative secrecy, forgery of a public document and witness tampering. Along with her lawyers, Romain Ruiz, Chloé Redon and Mourad Battikh, she accuses RMC journalist Daniel Riolo and at least two officers from the Brigade for the Repression of Banditry of disclosing material from the investigation into the assault on Kheira Hamraoui. The complaint also alleges that investigators steered a witness’s answers and tried to persuade journalist Romain Molina to change his account. Riolo was convicted of defamation in June 2025, while prosecutors in Versailles have sought a trial for Diallo, who is suspected of ordering Hamraoui’s 2021 assault.
