DR Congo: Joseph Kabila is a “Rwandan puppet,” says Félix Tshisekedi

Félix Tshisekedi called his predecessor Joseph Kabila a “Rwandan puppet” in an address to lawmakers published Tuesday on the Congolese presidency’s X account. On October 12, Kabila took the helm of the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation, a politico-military movement that includes the AFC/M23. Tshisekedi said Rwandan President Paul Kagame had pushed Kabila to emerge from the shadows and lead the offensive to make it appear to be an internal Congolese matter, as Rwanda faces sanctions. The new movement seeks to end the Kinshasa government, which it calls tyrannical, while Kabila has questioned in an interview whether Congo needs an election or a revolution.
