DRC: BCC's CPM Maintains Key Rate at 12.5% and Remains Vigilant Amid Macroeconomic Risks

On October 8, 2026, the Central Bank of Congo (BCC) held its 4th regular Monetary Policy Committee (CPM) meeting in Kolwezi, chaired by Governor André Wameso Nkualoloki. The decision was made to keep the key rate unchanged at 12.5%, along with other measures to ensure price stability and regulate the financial system amid internal and external economic uncertainties. The country's projected economic growth for 2026 is 5.4%, slightly down from 5.7% in 2025, with increasing contributions from non-mining sectors.
