DRC: C64 meets in Rome and says it wants to meet Tshisekedi and Kabila to prepare dialogue

Meeting in Rome, Martin Fayulu, Delly Sesanga, Matata Ponyo Mapon, Moïse Katumbi and Jean-Marc Kabund of the Article 64 Coalition (C64) said they want separate meetings with Félix Tshisekedi and Joseph Kabila to prepare an inclusive national dialogue. The coalition aims to agree on the dialogue’s terms with all parties and lobby the DRC’s partners for a negotiated solution to the political, security and humanitarian crisis. It condemned both staying in power by circumventing the Constitution and seizing power by force, and rejected constitutional change, a third presidential term or postponing the 2028 elections. The C64 called for the resumption of African facilitation led by Angola and Togo, alongside mediation by the Catholic and Protestant churches.
