DRC: In Kinshasa, young people from eastern provinces condemn Kabila’s FRN and urge rejection of armed struggle

The Dynamique de la Jeunesse du Kivu, de l’Ituri et du Maniema (DYJEKIM) condemned the creation of the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation (FRN) and the appointment of former president Joseph Kabila to lead it in a statement issued in Kinshasa on October 22. It warned that the coalition could prolong conflicts in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and called for sanctions against those who support it. DYJEKIM urged young people in North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri and Maniema not to join armed groups or give in to hate speech and financial inducements. It called for political disputes to be resolved through legal and peaceful means and encouraged education, entrepreneurship and local development.

He said politically unaffiliated voters—the “floaters party”—could influence the 2027 presidential election.
