DRC: Micheline Ombae launches national framework to monitor implementation of the Maputo Protocol

Gender, Family and Child Minister Micheline Ombae Kalama opened a two-day workshop in Kinshasa on November 3 to endorse a national monitoring and evaluation framework for the Maputo Protocol. The framework sets out to use specific indicators, clearly assigned responsibilities and reliable data tools to assess progress and strengthen institutional accountability. Ombae called on public institutions, provincial authorities, partners and civil society to help implement it, with an emphasis on tangible improvements in women’s and girls’ lives. The DRC submitted its second combined state report in March, covering 2017-2026.
