Ebola: Kaduna State Government Intensifies Surveillance Across Health Facilities

Kaduna State has activated its infectious disease hospital in Mando and intensified surveillance at health facilities to prepare for a possible Ebola outbreak. Public Health Director Dr Sadique Abubakar said isolation facilities, medicines, medical supplies and protective equipment were prepared, with essential supplies also provided to selected hospitals. The state has completed a readiness assessment, stepped up community outreach and activated rapid response teams. Abubakar said the index case had been moved out of the country and that no identified contacts were in Kaduna State; identified contacts are being monitored by the relevant authorities.
