Nigeria’s House of Representatives urged the federal government to strengthen Ebola prevention and emergency response after a confirmed case was reported in Abuja. Lawmaker Amobi Ogah said a woman arriving from Uganda tested positive on October 20, 2026, and 44 contacts were identified for isolation and testing. The House unanimously adopted his motion, calling for health agencies to be placed on high alert and for outstanding appropriated funds to be released to support surveillance, contact tracing and laboratory testing.
