Ebola: Senate urges mandatory screening at all entry points

Nigeria’s Senate has urged the federal government to require health screening for international passengers arriving at airports, seaports and designated land borders. The Senate also called for emergency funding, trained health staff and equipment at entry points, and ready isolation and treatment centres in all 36 states and Abuja. It urged lawmakers to replace the 1926 Quarantine Act with modern public health legislation and rejected a motion for senators to visit principal entry points.
