Ebola: NCDC Holds Emergency Meeting to Finalize Action Plans

Following the official declaration of an Ebola outbreak in Nigeria, the NCDC convened its first Incident Management Meeting on October 21, 2026, with agency leaders and key partners. The agency is finalizing its action plan and has begun field operations focused on surveillance, contact tracing, case management and infection prevention. The Federal Government confirmed Nigeria’s first case on Tuesday after tests in the Federal Capital Territory returned positive. The patient, a woman who recently flew from Uganda, was placed in isolation after receiving treatment at a private hospital for several days.
