Ekiti Government Appeals to Communities to Release Land for Ring Road

The Ekiti State Government has urged communities affected by the ring road construction to release land for the project’s expansion, following disputes over the acquisition of 200 metres on each side of the road. At a peace meeting in Ado Ekiti, Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye said the government would not forcefully acquire the land and would compensate property owners. She also promised to visit the site with relevant agencies to limit demolitions, while lawmaker Akeem Jamiu urged residents to support the project and reach a compromise.
