Ex-Aviation Tenders Board chairman, secretary not on trial over N1.4bn contract, EFCC witness says

At the Federal Capital Territory High Court, EFCC witness Christopher Odofin said former Permanent Secretary Abel Enitan and Director of Public Procurement Musa Odiniya, who were involved in awarding the Katsina Airport apron extension contract, are not on trial. Former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika, his daughter Fatima, son-in-law Hamma Jalal Sule and Al-Buraq Global Investment Ltd are facing charges of alleged abuse of office and contract fraud. Odofin said Sirika was not named as an offender in the contract documents and was charged following the EFCC investigation; he also said neither NNPCL nor NUPRC had filed a complaint against the defendants. The witness said he was unaware that the disputed contract had been re-awarded to Al-Buraq on March 17, 2025.
