Starlink suspended in Senegal: Those who really risk losing their internet access

The Supreme Court of Senegal has ordered the provisional suspension of Starlink's license, potentially affecting tens of thousands of Senegalese, especially in rural areas. Starlink, which arrived in Senegal in February 2026, aimed to improve connectivity in regions lacking fiber optic access. The suspension could deprive many rural households, particularly in areas like Kédougou and Sédhiou, of internet access, while the state had planned to connect one million Senegalese through this service.
