Caribbean Biological Corridor’s 30×30 Plus Marine Action Plan launched

The Wildlife Conservation Society and the Caribbean Biological Corridor launched the CBC 30×30 Plus Marine Action Plan to protect marine biodiversity and ecosystems across the Greater Antilles. Unveiled at the UN Biodiversity Conference’s COP17 in Yerevan, the plan aims to connect marine protected areas and coordinate regional efforts, including in shared offshore areas and migratory corridors. It is supported by UNEP, the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund and REV Ocean, and is intended to advance Target 3 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, known as “30×30.” A REV Ocean scientific expedition planned for 2027 is expected to provide baseline data for conservation agreements and joint offshore protection.
