Ethiopia: Life Returns to Normal in Mekele, Tigray

A few weeks after renewed fighting in northern Ethiopia, residents of Mekele are returning to normal life following the federal army's regain of control and the resumption of flights by the national airline to Tigray's capital. Ethiopian intelligence officials and a federal minister visited the regional capital, indicating a gradual return to stability. Mekele residents, like Haile Mariam Hadgu, expressed hope for further peace and normalcy, despite hardships caused by bank closures during the hostilities between the federal army and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) in late September.
