Meeting in Zurich on Thursday, the FIFA Council examined a solidarity programme allocating $6.35 billion to football development over four years. Each member association could receive a total of $25 million, nearly 14 billion CFA francs, for the 2027-2030 cycle. The funding could support infrastructure, long-term development projects, women’s football and youth categories. Eligibility, disbursement and oversight rules still need to be finalized before approval is expected at the March 2027 Congress.
