After five years of support in Côte d’Ivoire, the FISH4ACP programme presented its results at a workshop in Abidjan on 6 November 2026. Aquaculture production rose from 7,056 tonnes in 2022 to 15,363 tonnes in 2025, an increase of nearly 118%, but domestic tilapia output of more than 11,000 tonnes remains far below demand, estimated at over 45,000 tonnes. The programme supported 44 cooperatives representing 1,236 fish farmers and helped establish nine regional unions, while the government reiterated its goal of building a competitive and sustainable aquaculture sector.
