France announces partial curfew, ban on protests in Paris

Police announced a partial curfew in several Paris neighbourhoods on Monday as the government sought to restore order after some of the worst street violence in years. The curfew runs from 11:00 pm Monday until 6:00 am Tuesday. Demonstrations are also banned in several parts of the French capital from 8:00 pm Monday until 6:00 am Tuesday.

Finland seeks one million land mines as it eyes Russian threat

Finland plans to spend 100 million euros on one million anti-personnel mines after withdrawing from the Ottawa Convention in 2025 amid a worsening security climate. Florida issues arrest warrant for former Cuban leader Raul Castro

Florida has issued an arrest warrant for 95-year-old Raul Castro over his alleged role in the 1996 downing of two unarmed aircraft. State Attorney General James Uthmeier said Castro faces state charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. The aircraft, affiliated with the Florida-based group Brothers to the Rescue, were shot down on February 24, 1996, killing Carlos Costa, Pablo Morales, Mario de la Peña and Armando Alejandre Jr. US authorities say the planes were over international waters and received no warning; Cuba says earlier flights by the group had violated its airspace.
