Nigerian Air Force to continue salaries until crash victims’ benefits are paid

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will continue paying the salaries of personnel killed in the October 5, 2026, crash at Igbokoda, Ondo State, until their death benefits are fully paid to their next of kin. At a meeting with families on October 28, Chief of Civil-Military Relations Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet conveyed condolences from Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke and provided updates on recovery operations and the investigation. Gabkwet cited difficult access to the swampy crash site and said the NAF would continue recovery work with relevant agencies, without speculating on the cause before the evidence is examined. Families were also offered religious and psychological support.
