On October 26, an IMF mission led by Jaroslaw Wieczorek praised Burkina Faso’s public debt management efforts during a meeting with Fatoumata Bako/Traoré, the minister delegate in charge of the budget. They discussed economic growth, financial prospects and continuation of the economic and financial program agreed with the IMF. The institution’s figures show GDP growth rising from 4.8% in 2024 to 5.3% in 2025, while the budget deficit fell from 5.8% to 1.8% of GDP.
