High Court Declines Urgent Bid to Block Public Funding for Bayern-Ajax Match

Kenya’s High Court declined to certify as urgent a petition seeking to block the use of public funds for a proposed football event between Bayern Munich and AFC Ajax at Raila Odinga Stadium. The petitioners had asked the court to stop the event until the government complied with certain requirements. The court issued its first directions after they filed the case.
