Hoax bomb threats target European airlines and airports for second time in a week

At least 21 aircraft and several airports in eight European countries were targeted by bomb threats, which the UK described as a malicious hoax. An Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Rome was diverted to a French military air base, while Italian fighter jets escorted a Finnair flight from Helsinki to Rome. EasyJet said police met its flights from Newcastle and Glasgow in Prague; threats against Heathrow and Birmingham were deemed not credible. No explosives were found, and authorities do not know whether the incidents are linked; emails threatening Rome-bound flights were signed “Fighters of the Male State.”
