"I won't campaign for anyone," Islamic cleric Daurawa says after APC appointment

Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, commandant-general of the Kano State Hisbah Board, said he would not campaign for any candidate in the 2027 general elections. In a Hausa-language Facebook post, he responded to criticism over his inclusion, alongside Sheikh Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, in Kano APC’s Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Advisory Committee. Daurawa said he hoped leaders who uphold justice, defend the rights of the poor and improve their lives would be elected. He did not directly comment on his reported appointment to the committee.
