Ibou Fall: The “Negroes,” Proud to Be Who They Are, Wish You Inner Peace! (Prof. Mouhamed Abdallah LY)

Professor Mouhamed Abdallah LY condemns journalist and commentator Ibou Fall for referring to voters he would not seek in a possible presidential run as “Negroes.” Since the March 24, 2024 election, Fall has also reportedly called the 54% of voters who backed a change of government “ignorant,” “vandals” and “fascists.” LY argues that using the historically dehumanizing term to demean voters cannot be excused as irony or satire. He also criticizes the lack of consequences for Fall’s repeated insults, including vulgar remarks about PASTEF women activists, and ends by wishing him inner peace.

RSF says national security must be balanced with press freedom and the public’s right to information.
