In Sicily, Raïssa Malu calls for joint investment in education and energy in the DRC

Raïssa Malu, the DRC’s minister of national education and new citizenship, called for simultaneous investment in education and energy at the AGORA conference, held in Sicily on 26 and 27 October 2026. She said access to electricity improves learning conditions, enables the use of digital tools and strengthens schools’ capacity. Malu noted that the DRC’s education system serves nearly 30 million students across about 124,000 schools. Held under the Mission 300 initiative with international partners, the conference brought decision-makers and experts together to discuss development, energy and education in Africa.
