INEC Dismisses Viral Poster on Mark-Led ADC Leadership as Fake

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) dismissed a viral poster claiming it had reaffirmed the African Democratic Congress leadership led by David Mark. In a statement on November 6, the commission said the poster, which used its logo and an image of National Commissioner Mohammed Haruna, did not come from INEC and urged the public to rely on its official channels. The clarification came a day after a Federal High Court in Abuja ruled that Mark’s caretaker committee was illegal and nullified Atiku Abubakar’s nomination as the ADC’s presidential candidate for 2027. Justice Peter Lifu ruled in favour of Nafiu Bala, the party’s former National Deputy Chairman for the North-East.
