A judicial investigation has been opened in Réunion against the captain of the tanker "DF Peak", suspected of belonging to a Russian ghost fleet. The ship, inspected by the French Navy in high seas, was found flying an irregular Beninese flag, leading to its rerouting offshore. The 21 crew members from various nationalities are held in detention for 48 hours as part of France's efforts to combat ships used by Moscow to export oil illegally under Western sanctions, according to President Emmanuel Macron.
