IPOB declares total APC boycott over delays in listing Nnamdi Kanu’s appeal

IPOB says it will boycott APC rallies and reject the party’s insignia until the appeal by its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is listed for hearing. In a statement by spokesperson Emma Powerful, the group accused the Federal Government of delaying the appeal against Kanu’s November 20, 2025 conviction and failing to file its respondent’s brief. The group urged supporters to carry out the boycott peacefully; the APC and Federal Government had not responded to the allegations when the report was filed.

The organisation, which backs Seyi Makinde under the APM, also pledged to prioritise transparency and citizens’ welfare through its proposed “Reset Nigeria” agenda ahead of the 2027 election.
