Iran says it will keep US warships away as Trump weighs new attacks

Iranian armed forces chief of staff Ali Abdollahi said the United States could not bring its warships back into or near Iranian territorial waters, warning that Iran could target any vessel in the region. President Donald Trump told a Florida rally that the US military might launch another “Epic Fury” operation, after weighing further major attacks against maintaining a naval blockade and sanctions. Abdollahi vowed that Iran would drag the United States and Israel into a “quagmire” in retaliation for their surprise attack on February 28, which began an eight-month war. Attacks on vessels in and around the Strait of Hormuz continue, while the risk of renewed fighting is driving oil prices higher.
