Irving praises Al-Shaair’s ‘selfless act’ after paying fine over Hind Rajab

NBA star Kyrie Irving said he paid the $11,941 fine imposed on American football player Azeez Al-Shaair for wearing Hind Rajab’s name on his equipment. Al-Shaair honored the five-year-old Palestinian girl, who was killed in Gaza on January 29, 2024, after Israeli soldiers opened fire on her family’s car. Irving called Al-Shaair a friend and brother, describing his act as selfless and praising his effort to speak up for people without a voice. Al-Shaair has also used social media and his eye black to draw attention to Palestinian deaths in Gaza.
