Israeli settlers take Palestinian olives, and their harvest traditions

Israeli settlers have established an illegal outpost on private Palestinian land in the village of Qaryut in the occupied West Bank, entering an olive grove about 200 meters from Palestinian homes. They were filmed beating an olive tree with sticks to harvest olives, claiming to produce 'Pure Olive Oil,' despite not owning the land. Palestinian farmer Bashar Qaryouti stated that the area has been declared a closed military zone by the Israeli army since October 2023, preventing Palestinians from accessing their land amid ongoing conflict. Avichai Suissa, a sanctioned Israeli settler who runs a farm on the outpost, aims to rebuild and expand it, which was previously dismantled by the Israeli army.
