Israelis and Americans are voting within days of each other, with global consequences

Israeli voters are due to elect a new parliament on Tuesday, a week before Americans choose a new Congress. The results could affect wars in the Middle East and the global economy, and about 500,000 Israelis with US passports are eligible to vote in both countries. Benjamin Netanyahu has raised the prospect of a renewed attack on Iran and repeated, without providing evidence, claims about its nuclear threat, while Donald Trump has endorsed Netanyahu’s re-election campaign.
