Kaduna police clarify circumstances surrounding journalist Farida Isiak’s case

The Kaduna State Police Command responded to allegations that journalist Farida Isiak of Nagarta Radio was arbitrarily arrested and detained and hastily sentenced. Spokesman DSP Mansir Hassan said the matter arose from a Facebook post by Isiak containing statements directed at the Nigeria Police Force, an officer and his family, following a disagreement connected to a request made by the journalist. The commissioner of police had intervened since the previous day to facilitate an amicable resolution. The command urged media outlets to verify allegations and give relevant parties an opportunity to respond, while reaffirming its commitment to constitutional rights and responsible press freedom.
