Kano Court Orders Police Probe of Lawmaker over Alleged Assault and Illegal Demolition

The Kano State High Court has ordered the Nigeria Police Force to investigate allegations of conspiracy, assault, intimidation and illegal demolition involving lawmaker Muazu Abdullahi-Gwarzo. Sulaiman Isah alleges that the lawmaker, known as Baban Gandu, was overseeing the demolition of his unfinished building on October 16 and told men to assault him and seize his phone when he tried to film the scene. The petition says four men injured Isah before a neighbour intervened. The October 19, 2026 order followed a petition filed on Isah’s behalf and calls for a thorough investigation.
