Key takeaways from Real Madrid’s El Clasico win over Barcelona

Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou, with Kylian Mbappe’s brace taking his season tally to 14 goals. The win gave Madrid Barcelona’s first league defeat of the season and ended the Catalan side’s nine-game top-flight winning streak, while denying them a chance to surpass Real’s record for the best start to a Spanish league season, set in 1968-69. It was Hansi Flick’s team’s second consecutive defeat after losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, and moved Real ahead in the all-time Clasico record, with 107 wins to Barcelona’s 106.
