KNEC Explains How KPSEA and KJSEA Results Will Be Determined

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced that KPSEA and KJSEA results will combine school-based assessments with national examinations. For the KJSEA, the final score will comprise 60% from the national exam, 20% from school-based assessments in Grades 7 and 8, and 20% from KPSEA. KPSEA uses four competency bands and contributes 20% toward future senior school entrance scores; it does not determine school placement, and all learners will progress to Grade 7. KNEC CEO David Njengere also warned candidates that examination malpractice could lead to cancelled results.
