Kwankwasiyya Movement accuses INEC staff member of helping replace candidates in Kano

Hundreds of Kwankwasiyya Movement supporters protested at INEC’s Kano State office on Friday and submitted a petition seeking an investigation into the alleged substitution of candidates and the omission of NDC governorship candidate Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo. Movement spokesperson Dr Habib Mohammed accused an INEC staff member of working with unauthorised people and said letters with suspected forged signatures had been submitted to the commission’s headquarters. Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner Abdu Zango said the petition would be forwarded to the national headquarters and that affected parties could appeal by October 24. The movement says it followed the nomination rules and wants the omission addressed.
