Cameroon: 5,971 'fictitious' public agents summoned to justify their presence in the country

In Cameroon, the Ministry of Finance has identified 5,971 public agents deemed fictitious, no longer residing in the country. These agents have until October 31, 2026, to clarify their situation by providing documents such as a photocopy of their passport and proof of effective presence. In the meantime, their salaries will be redirected to the General Treasury-Payment of Yaoundé I. After this deadline, those who fail to clarify their status will be suspended from the state's payroll.
