Lack of Magistrates Paralyzes Several Courts in Kasaï, Warns Bar Association President

The lack of magistrates continues to disrupt the judicial system in Kasaï, with several peace courts without judges for years and some jurisdictions not functioning for about four years. Hubert Bulandjo, president of the Bar Association of Kasaï, warned about this situation and called on the Superior Council of the Judiciary to quickly increase staffing. The paralysis of courts prevents litigants from having their cases heard, promotes impunity, and may lead to justice being taken into people's own hands.

Since the ceasefire was announced in October 2025, Israeli attacks have killed or wounded a Palestinian in Gaza every 90 minutes on average, according to Islamic Relief. Israel has killed at least 74,254 people since October 2023 and continues to block aid supplies, fuel, and medical materials, using the Yellow Line to push Palestinians out of 65% of Gaza, confining nearly 2.1 million people to the remaining 35%.
