Land dispute Apouh-Socapalm: case adjourned to July 2, locals demand retrocession of nearly 200 ha

The first hearing in the land dispute between the Apouh village community in Ngog and the state, involving Socapalm, was not held on June 4, 2026 due to a power outage at the courthouse. The case was adjourned to July 2, 2026, when a judge rapporteur will be appointed. The lawsuit concerns five land titles granted to Socapalm on August 10, 1960. Locals demand the retrocession of nearly 200 hectares, as a survey by the Ministry of State Property and Land Affairs revealed discrepancies in area.
