Willy Mengue expected in court Monday, 48 hours after Tiriane Noah’s election as head of the MRC

Willy Mengue, expelled from the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC) on June 29, is summoned to appear at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 19, before the Yaoundé-Ekounou Court of First Instance in his dispute with the party. In September, the court declared itself without jurisdiction in an earlier case in which Mengue and other claimants challenged aspects of the MRC leadership. The hearing comes 48 hours after Tiriane Noah was elected head of the party, although the two events involve separate proceedings. No ruling from the October 19 hearing has been established.
