Mbalmayo: Maëva Ateba’s murder reconstructed in the presence of authorities

On Friday, October 16, administrative, police and judicial authorities visited the Obeck neighbourhood in Mbalmayo to reconstruct Maëva Ateba’s death. The student was allegedly stabbed on October 12 at around 10:30 p.m. during an argument at the home of her partner, Samuel Etong Nyeck, the main suspect. According to the account of the reconstruction, he initially gave contradictory explanations before admitting his involvement. The prefect of Nyong-et-So’o later met Maëva’s family and promised support to help raise her five-year-old son.
