Mali: Human rights defenders demand truth about Mountaga Tall

Six months after the abduction of Mountaga Tall, a Malian lawyer and former minister, his whereabouts and those of his son Cheick Mamadou Tall remain unknown. Tall was reportedly arrested at home on the night of May 2–3 by masked men described as members of State Security, and his son was reportedly detained a few days later. Amnesty International is urging the authorities to disclose where they are held, confirm they are alive, and give them access to their families, lawyers, and medical care. Lawyers and several Malian and international organizations have appealed to the authorities and the courts, but have received no official response.
