A 41-year-old man was arrested after he was spotted running through the restricted garden of Tuynhuys, the South African president’s official Cape Town office. Presidential Protection Services officers saw him during foot patrols near Parliament on Tuesday. Western Cape Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Siyabulela Vukubi said the man could not explain how he entered the restricted area and is expected to face a charge under the National Key Points Act. He is due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
