Mao Zedong: More Bad News for Mbappé and Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappé sparked controversy in China after naming a meme depicting him with Mao Zedong as his favorite on the show The Bridge. China Media Group suspended broadcasts of Real Madrid’s La Liga matches, while sponsors Dongpeng and Mengniu ended their contracts with the player. Although Mbappé apologized, the broadcaster also wants sincere apologies from Real Madrid and La Liga, and no restart date for the broadcasts has been announced ahead of the club’s November 1 trip to Santander.
