Masisi: MSF cared for more than 10,000 survivors of sexual violence in Sake over 13 months

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) says it cared for more than 10,300 survivors of sexual violence and provided psychological support to over 10,400 people in Sake, Masisi territory, during 13 months of work. Launched in February 2025 after fighting between the AFC/M23 and the FARDC around Goma, the intervention included rehabilitating Sake’s referral health centre and establishing a cholera treatment unit. MSF is transferring its activities to Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) to maintain care while redirecting its resources to other emergencies, including Katoyi.
